There are certain pleasures in life that are just irresistible and I think massages are right up there in this category. I am sure there may be some out there who don’t like getting massages, but for most of us, this is a very pleasurable experience.

This is why I am super excited to share with you a product that can make a great experience become even better. This is the Mountain Sky all natural massage bar. I have really enjoyed all the Mountain Sky products, but this has to be by far my favorite product from them.

Mountain Sky is a small, family owned company that specializes in natural products out of British Columbia, Canada. They take care to make sure that their products are environmentally friendly, just as they are healthy for each of us to use. To learn more about Mountain Sky, check out my feature write-up on Mountain Sky or visit their web site – Mountain Sky.

Mountain Sky has 3 varieties of the natural massage bar: Relief, Bliss and Desire. This review will focus specifically on my experience with the Relief variety.

The description on the product states: “When your body has hiked, biked and swam to the ends of the plateau, try rubbing a Relief Massage Bar into those tired achy muscles for penetrating relief.

The massage bars are made with cocoa butter, shea butter and essential oils. No chemical preservatives, colors or other additives are used in their making. As long as the product is not ingested, and one is not allergic to any of the ingredients, it should pose no health risks upon normal use.

I was most impressed with how fun it was to use this product. It is phenomenal for giving massages to another, but is also very easy to use on oneself. Unlike most massage oils, there is no dripping of oils, so it is much cleaner and easier to work with.

At first use it feels like a soap bar, but within a couple of rubs on the skin, it begins to gently melt and feels like a delicate oil or butter. It glides on very easily and is phenomenal to work with for massaging an area. It is not overly greasy, lasts well for massaging an area and absorbs well too after enough rubbing. If you need more, just rubbing it between your hands or on the body part, will unleash more oils.

The scent of this product was very appealing to me, but may not be suitable for everyone, depending on your scent preferences. Since this product has camphor, mint and tea tree oil, as well as cinnamon and cocoa butter, the scent was very fresh and invigorating. It does remind me a bit of the scent of Vick’s vapor rub (from what I remember in childhood), but I mean that from a good perspective. I look forward to trying the other two varieties to experience their scents as well. I imagine all of these products make the massage experience even better by providing aromatherapy as well thanks to the essential oils used.

The product is suitable for vegetarians, however not strict vegans as it does contain beeswax and the origin of the stearic acid may be from animal sources. Mountain Sky does not test their products on animals.

In conclusion, this is a truly great product, that is as equally natural as it is fun to use. It is great for moisturizing your own skin or that of another and makes a great gift idea as well.
