Health & Nutrition Background
Evita has an Honors Bachelor of Science degree in the areas of Biology and Psychology, and a Bachelor of Education degree. She is a Certified Holistic Nutritionist and Certified Yoga Teacher.
Her professional work began as a secondary school science teacher, a position she held for 7 years. In 2009, Evita resigned from institutionalized teaching and transitioned to entrepreneurial teaching through public speaking and online education platforms. She specializes in holistic health, optimal human nutrition, anatomy, physiology and biochemistry of the human body, psychology, environmental studies and spirituality.
Along her path, she was led to whole-food, plant-based and vegan living, which is grounded in solid scientific research for being the most healing and protective, as well as most sustainable for the Earth and most ethical. Her work and research also explores the impact of everyday toxins on human health and how to reduce or eliminate toxins from our bodies, homes and everyday environments to create the least toxic lifestyle.
She also helps people become aware of the mind-body connection, which is the ultimate dictating factor in the state of our health. Only when we factor in the role of our thoughts and emotions, can we truly begin to understand what it takes to heal, maintain or create health. By understanding health holistically, we begin to connect the dots between our physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social health, and how they all influence each other to create the state of health and wellbeing we have at any given time. Once a disease or symptoms develop it is normally long after the initial imbalance occurred. Our present health is a reflection of our past choices. Hence, it is important to be aware of the mind-body connection and how we deal with any stress, challenges or trauma in our lives.
