This simple real, whole food combo of ingredients will provide you with a delicious, rich and creamy frozen treat that provides a healthy ice cream experience. Aside from being deeply satisfying and delicious, this treat will provide you with healthy carbohydrates, healthy fats, healthy protein, and an abundance of vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, and antioxidants. It is naturally low in sodium, as long as your peanut butter is pure without any added salt, and cholesterol-free. This nice cream is super quick and easy to make and can make an excellent treat anytime!

Preparation Steps

  1. If working with a Vitamix, place frozen bananas into your Vitamix blender, along with the peanut butter, and blend on high speed, while using the tamper to move ingredients around until a uniform and firm cream results. With the help of a spatula, remove into bowls and enjoy.
  2. If working with the manual method, use fresh bananas. Peel the bananas and cut up into cylinders into a wide dish or bowl. Mash the bananas with a fork. Add in the peanut butter and mash or stir until all ingredients are uniform and creamy. Place your dish into the freezer for about 2 to 4 hours until the nice cream sets and freezes. Let thaw out a few minutes if it became frozen too hard.

Tips

  • Turn this into a chocolate-banana-peanut butter nice cream by adding in 1 tablespoon of raw cacao powder or melted raw cacao paste.
  • For peanut or nut allergies, replace the peanut butter with a different nut or seed butter. (See video or list at the bottom for ideas.)
  • Larger quantities can be made and kept frozen for future use.
